Bangladesh logged an additional 23 deaths and 1,203 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Saturday, counting the death toll to 5,500 and infections to 3,77,073. Among the deceased, 15 were male and eight were female patients. A Directorate General of Health Services press release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.
Some 10,859 specimens were tested in the timeline at 109 labs across the country. Bangladesh had tested a total of 20,61,528 specimens as of October 10.
A total of 1,453 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 2,91,365.
Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
